Reptiles and Amphibians

We love our reptile and amphibian friends! We provide basic wellness care as well as diagnose and treat illnesses or injuries. We can also provide you with expert advice on diet, habitat, heat, lighting needs, and more.

Reptile and amphibian species we see include:

  • Snakes (non-venomous)

  • Turtles and tortoises

  • Lizards

  • Iguanas

  • Geckos

  • Frogs and toads

  • Bearded dragons

  • Chameleons

The needs of every reptile and amphibian species can be very different (and very precise), so it’s important to work closely with your veterinarian to provide your pet with the proper care.

Environment

Providing your pet with the proper environment can be complicated. To keep your animal healthy, it’s imperative to know the environment from which they originated and mimic it as closely as possible. Every species has specific requirements for its environment based on what their natural habitat is. Desert or tropical species have dramatically different needs that can be challenging to maintain correctly, and it’s important to research these requirements prior to purchasing a reptile or amphibian.

Diet

Every reptile and amphibian species has unique dietary needs. Some species are carnivorous and eat insects or smaller animals, while others are strict vegetarians. Understanding your pet’s nutritional needs is essential to providing them with a complete and healthy diet.
